What’s that on your chin?

April 30, 2008
Hubby and I had lunch together on Friday since he was headed out of town for the weekend.  As we were leaving, I noticed something on his chin.  It looked like fuzz but it wouldn’t come off.  I told him to look in the mirror when he got in the car and take care of it.  He later texted me to say what I thought was fuzz was actually grey whiskers.  LOL.  Somebody’s getting old and it’s not me!

Chop chop!

April 29, 2008

That’s right, I chopped off my hair.  I like the cut but I think I’ll miss being able to throw my hair in a ponytail to run to Home Depot.  I don’t think I’ve had hair this short since 1999/2000.

Speaking of Home Depot, why did hubby send me there to buy something they only carry at Lowe’s.  Talk about awkward.  I asked the sales associate and he was like, you have to go to the blue box for that. Oops.

Our patio project seems to have stalled unfortunately.  Hopefully we can get back on track this weekend because I want to have it done in time to get maximum summer enjoyment.  If I remember, I’ll try to post some before and after pics.

So busy!

April 23, 2008

I’m still around, just busy.  I’ve taken on new responsibilities at work so I don’t have much free time during the day.  We’ve also got some home improvement projects going.  Not to mention, I STILL haven’t done the last of the coursework needed to complete my class.  I absolutely have to get that done by the end of the month.

We’ve cut back on major travel this year (home improvements cost money, boooooo!).  However, we still have a number of weekend trips.  Add to that, trying to maintain a social life and my sanity.  However, my sanity may be in question as I recently took on the gargatutan task of being treasurer for a non-profit in which I’m involved.  I do have sense enough to ‘outsource’ some of my household responsibilities though (hello housekeeper) but that’s bringing its own difficulties.  So if you know a good (and not expensive), professional (in demeanor) housekeeper in ATL who is willing to travel to the piney woods of W. Cobb, please let me know!

Get your bowl on

April 8, 2008

Hubby likes to bowl.  He usually plays on a league during the summer and he generally does one or two charity bowls (is that what you call it) every year.  He has one coming up soon and needs to practice.  So we’re heading to the bowling alley tonight.  It should be interesting.

I suck at bowling.  I rarely bowl 100.  I have a hard time finding a ball I like and those icky shoes are never lysol-ed enough for me.  But hubby wants to bowl so bowl we shall.  He doesn’t know he’s buying me dinner afterwards and none of that bowling alley food either.  Haha.

In other news, let me just say Coffeebreak Spanish is the bomb.  I’ve downloaded all 58 podcasts and by the time we go to Acapulco, I should be speaking Spanish like a whiz.  However, UNDERSTANDING foreign languages has always been my problem.  I can order food, ask questions, etc. but I never understand the people when they speak back to me.  Feh.  So if anyone has hints on how to improve my listening comprehension, I’d greatly appreciate it.  Have a fantastic week.  Hasta pronto!

I’m smiling now

April 7, 2008

Hubby has been way busy at work for the past few weeks.  It seems like he’s had non-stop meetings and presentations.  Which means he’s rarely at his desk lately.  Which means I don’t get to communicate with him as much throughout the day.

I’ve been having a crazy couple of weeks as well.  I just got a new mail notification and was dreading the thought of having to respond to yet another e-mail.  But, it was from my sweetie.  He was taking a break from his meeting and just wanted to let me know he’s thinking of me and hopes my day goes well.    emoticon
